About Katie B. Witmer, Esq.

Katie B. Witmer, Esq., earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Florida State University in 2013, where she gained valuable insights into human behavior and relationships. After spending time abroad teaching English as a second language to children, Katie returned to her studies at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, she assisted clients at the Virgin D. Hawkins Family Law Clinic. Katie obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and has been admitted to the practice of law in the State of Florida since 2020.

 

Katie is passionate about assisting clients in family law matters, offering legal support in cases involving divorce, paternity, parenting plans, injunctions for protection against domestic violence, and other family-related disputes. She also has a proven track record in civil litigation and transactional matters. Katie is committed to providing skilled legal counsel and strategy to her clients in order to allow each client to make informed decisions thereby creating a sense of calm and reassurance during what can often feel like an overwhelming process.

 

Beyond the professional practice, Katie is committed to the SWFL community where she was born and raised. 

 

Currently, Katie is a proud member of the following associations  where she engages with fellow attorneys, judges, professionals, and the community to promote professionalism, ethics, and excellence in the practice of law:

  • Association of Family Law Professionals;

  • Lee County Bar Association;

  • Family Law Section of the Florida Bar; and

  • Michael R.N. McDonnell Chapter of the American Inns of Court.

Katie also actively volunteers with the Teen Court Program to mentor young individuals interested in legal careers.
